There's a mix of odd antique relics and cool paintings with skeletons overlayed on historic paintings. It has three trailers with windows cut in the sides so you can see the displays. Driving through you would miss the finer nuances, so I would suggest parking and walking.

We visited the Museum of Mystery, which is next to the highway in three shipping containers. It's free and very interesting. We also drove down the highway back to the artist's house but he was away in Oregon for a week. Not sure if there's anything to see back by his house. Museum of Mystery is at intersection of Hwy 431 and Hwy 169.

The shipping container drive-thru museum/gallery is on the highway just up the road from the last known Museum of Wonder location. Seems to be newer and more convenient! Butch's website still shows the Museum of Wonder back by a pond off Poorhouse Rd.

Come see curiosities from around the world and beyond (but mostly from Alabama!). Started in the 1970s as Butch's taxidermy shop and artifact room, the Museum of Wonder is now filled with art, artifacts and antiques, and some very strange items.
