Plan on a couple hours. The collection is large and it is part of a very good local museum. They have an interactive experience and a theater attached. I recommend checking hours for those bits.

The Morris Museum is a beautifully displayed eclectic collection of art, ethnographic, and science exhibits. The best part of the collection is the Mechanical Musical Instruments and 19th century Automata. It's worth the $10 admission for that exhibit alone. Daily at 2:00 pm there is a live demonstration of the working pieces, but they also have fantastic videos that show the automata in action.
There are lots of hands-on activities to keep little ones (and big ones) happy. Other exhibits running while we were there: Lego Art and Beards: The Long and Short of It. This place is on our list for a revisit!
