Herd of Buffalo Statues
There is a way to safely see them and get up close to them. I got off at I-65 exit 87 (Trinity Lane), drove east, then turned south onto Dickerson Pike. At the Citgo station I turned east onto Grace Street and parked. The gas station is on the north side of Grace St. and a Salvation Army place is on the south side, so it is fairly safe to park here. I then walked south one block on Dickerson and crossed the street to get onto the median. It is a little tricky, waiting for a break in the traffic, but it can be done.

Life-sized buffalo line the road along Dickerson Pike near First Street. I was stopped in a traffic jam on I-24W when I spotted them. There looks to be a little park set up in the area. They were installed in 2009 and pay homage to the area's history, which used to be a buffalo trail.

Ten life-size bronze bison were installed in the median of Dickerson Pike in 2009 because the road was a long-ago bison trail. Although called "Buffalo Park," there's no safe way to see it other than from your car.
