- Memphis Memorial Park. I-240 exit 15 (Poplar Ave., not toward Germantown) on the northwest side. Drive west, then turn into the cemetery. You can see the Grotto's spire from the entrance, straight ahead. Hayes is directly across from it.

Memphis punk rocker Jay Reatard is buried next to Isaac Hayes. A bench memorializing Johnny Cash's bass player is about 40 feet to the left of Jay.

I visited at the beginning of June and can confirm that Isaac Hayes' grave is directly across from the pond at the grotto. It is a little hard to see at first because, unlike traditional tombstones, this one is laying flat on the ground.
