Lenoir, North Carolina: The Witches' Keyhole
In the 1800s someone built a big, black, brick keyhole into their house to let witches escape. The keyhole is now part of a large brick planter in front of a church. Witches, begone from our petunias!

- Trinity United Methodist Church. North end of town. From US Hwy 321/Blowing Rock Blvd turn east at the stoplight in front of the Wal-Mart onto Seehorn St. NE. Drive a quarter-mile. You'll see the church on the right; the keyhole is in the big, brick planter in front of it, out by the road.

Bigger than an actual keyhole, but not quite big enough to justify going too far off your route -- unless you're really into witchy history, in which case, I'd still think twice. Double meh.
