Gator Farm - Emu Feed

This gator farm exists mostly to raise alligators to sell the meat/skins. But the tour (pretty cheap, a few bucks) gets you up close to gators. We were lucky enough to see them feed a few previously frozen emus (well, we begged them, and they did it for us.) Not for the faint hearted or weak-stoamched. At this visit, the place was run by a couple of Vietnam vets, friendly gator guys. Souvenirs avaailable, such as gator claw necklaces.

Ray Fagan reminisces: "During Hurricane Georges the farm was flooded for several days. Hundreds of gators got loose in the area. The farm is not on the local residents' Christmas list."
