Writer Dave Eggers' community student tutoring building had to include a "retail business," so he opened a store to meet every need of the modern pirate. Drawers full of patches, peg legs, cures for scurvy, hook protectors (for sleeping), and a blob of 8 mop-heads that dropped from the ceiling onto unsuspecting visitors.

A fun store with lots of thematic pirate kitsch, but I honestly don't know how the owner can afford to make rent. It was jam-packed when I went, but I never saw anyone buy anything. It's like a museum.
