Turn on Frank Bird Blvd, where the metal bird is, and you'll see a Loch Ness monster made of rocks about 100 yards away.
[Kimberly, 10/26/2020]The bird once perched atop a hill that's now been leveled. It has been moved to street level and fenced, with solar panels added so that it's now lighted at night. My kids love this bird. Sometime we drive over just to see it.

The bird is worth the little jaunt up a hill. The locals we encountered weren't terribly friendly, but it's still a neat place to go.

On Highway 33 between Maryville and Knoxville, Tennessee. On the side of the road. Up a hill by a field. Large enough to have hubcaps for eyes!

Just a guess here, but this may have something to do with "Frank Bird Blvd" just up the road, which is the address of a big metal fabrication business.
