Climbing the spiral staircase to take in the view would've been great, but the Pagoda was locked up. It was November. We should've called ahead. Also, the row of high ground defensive cannons is awesome!!

Patterson Park is the oldest park in Baltimore. George A. Frederick was hired as park architect in 1863 and designed many structural elements within the park but there is much debate as to the Pagoda's architect. Some sources claim Charles H. Latrobe designed it and others insist it was Frederick. The Pagoda was restored in 2002.
