The actual house where the DeFeo family was murdered in 1974 and the Lutz family was allegedly haunted in 1975 by their spirits, as depicted in The Amityville Horror. It's been the basis of a number of films, but the town doesn't care to be known for its horror.

The house is privately owned. I felt for the owners, as they had to have "Private Property" signs up. If you go to see it, please show them your respect.
