Winona, Minnesota: Fort Ticonderoga Tombstone
Miniature version of New York's Fort Ticonderoga marks the grave of Stephen Taylor, who claimed to be a veteran of the Fort's famous Revolutionary War battle. The DAR had the tombstone built in 1933. Researchers now think that Taylor lied.

- Woodlawn Cemetery. Enter the cemetery from W. Lake Blvd. Drive straight in, pass the four private mausoleums on the left, and you'll quickly see the small Fort tombstone on the right, at the entrance to a side road.
- Hours:
- M-F 8:30-4. Gated after hours. Local health policies may affect hours and access.

Bear to the left when you first enter the cemetery and it will be on your righthand side. The original tombstone is built into the structure. FUN FACT: my great grandfather, Roy Kratz, built this monument!

The grave of Stephen Taylor, the only known Revolutionary War soldier buried in Minnesota, can be found in Woodlawn Cemetery. His gravesite is designed to resemble Fort Ticonderoga, where he may--or may not--have fought alongside Ethan Allen during the famous 1775 raid of the fort.
