Jefferson, Texas: Scarlett O'Hardy's Gone With the Wind Museum

Frankly, my dear, you WILL give a damn when you visit this very eclectic museum dedicated to the movie that continually tops poll after poll as the public's all-time favorite film, and the novel, published 76 years ago, that has never been out of print. You'll be overwhelmed when you walk in the door - you'll see anything and everything to do with the classic book and movie.

There are autographs from cast members, costume reproductions, dolls, magazines, seats from the theater where the movie premiered, records, movies, and books... a whole room devoted to books, in fact. You can see seventy-five foreign editions of the novel, from Bulgaria to Yugoslavia, Denmark to Vietnam.

There is a perfectly-appointed Tara dollhouse, a Christmas tree featuring what is surely every Gone With the Wind ornament ever made, quilts with the theme, and pretty much anything else you can imagine. There's even a gift shop in case you're inspired to start your own collection!
