The 42nd parallel is not as famous as the 45th, but Massachusetts nevertheless celebrates the invisible demarcator with a stone marker.

- Hwy 3 exit 9 (Kingston). Turn north toward Kingston on Hwy 3A/Main St. Drive a half-mile. Turn right onto Landing Rd. Drive a little over a half-mile. The road bends back under Hwy 3, and the marker is just ahead, at the intersection of Parks St.

The marker is close to the spot where the 42nd parallel enters the USA from the Atlantic Ocean. As it travels west, this parallel forms part of the boundaries between New York and Pennsylvania, Idaho and Utah, Idaho and Nevada, Oregon and Nevada, and Oregon and Utah.
