The Lindley Sign Post Forest includes probably a dozen or so posts at this point, each with several signs with mileage to other towns. Carl Lindley was a Danville native and GI who started a Sign Post Forest where he was stationed, at Watson Lake in the Yukon, in 1942. If some of the signs in the Danville forest are recreations from there, it might explain why some of them have some wonky mileage.

The Lindley Sign Post Forest opened in 2010. Concept that may impress when the "forest" is thicker and taller. Newer signs are more like town logotypes rather than just names with directional arrows. You can't just bring your own sign; you pay the town of Danville to make one for your town.
