Thanks to roadsideamerica.com for giving me the heads-up to keep an eye out for these weird signs. While walking around the city (just before the big snow storm that hit there!) I found some more interesting signs. The one of the bird with a bubble on its beak is particularly weird!

- Random locations in and around Amarillo.
My recent roadtrip confirmed the sighting of the "Weird Street Signs" in Amarillo, TX. I first spotted a couple of them in random yards in a suburban neighborhood. Then I saw a second batch of them after leaving The Cadillac Ranch. I saw some really strange ones off the Hwy 40 service road, headed westbound. The ones I recall had messages such as, "Drive Friendly Honey," "Hot Pink," "Egg Yolk," "Royal Blue" and "Blood Red". Very random - very weird - very cool. A local told me a rumor that if someone digs up one of these signs (pole, cement and all), then personally delivers it to Stanley Marsh, III, you will be awarded $100 (per sign). However, I didn't have time to research the local fines for "theft of public property".
[Jason Graham, 04/21/2002]Weird Street signs in yards all over Amarillo, Texas with sayings or stupid quotes. Very popular to have one in your yard. Stanley Marsh, III, who did the Cadillac Ranch is the brain child of this strange endeavor. He is supposed to have in his house a Volkswagen Bug under glass -- actual car.
