A moose sculpture, nearly 11 feet tall, pays tribute to everything Maine. In addition to the moose itself there's a Maine Coon Cat, a Black Cap Chickadee (the state bird), and lobsters. A can of Moxie (the official state soda) rests on the bronze base supporting the statue. A leaping landlocked salmon (the state fish) jumps away from the moose's front hoof. Other emblems around the base of the statue represent the official state dessert (blueberry pie), treat (whoopee pie), flower (pine cone and tassel), insect (honeybee), fossil (pertica quadrifaria), herb (wintergreen), and mineral (tourmaline), which is surrounded by a ring of nautical rope.
