Inside St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux there is a wax figure of a young woman inside a glass reliquary. According to the cathedral, the figure contains the relic arm of St. Valerie of Rome who was martyred in the second century. It was brought from Rome in 1868 and survived a fire that destroyed the original church in 1916. Nearby on the wall is also a small framed relic of St. Valerie.
