I worked on this piece of public art, and can assure you that the jade is real! I made the machine that made the beads.

Big abacus.

Very Large Abacus

Giant abacus that really works. The beads are made of real (or maybe fake) jade and are the size of grapefruits. Should solve all your big math problems. Right across the street from Andy Livingstone Park on the south edge of Chinatown.
