Morehead City, North Carolina: Head of Woo Woo Harker

Woo Woo was a beloved sea fishing captain. His bronze head, with rope trim and a bell, faces the water, but drunks kept abusing it, so the town has secured the monument behind a seven-foot tall iron fence.

Behind Bars: The Head of Woo Woo Harker

Statue of a beloved fisherman. Bless his heart!

[Shannon, 08/05/2015]

The 2008 head sculpture is of a local sea captain who died in 2006. He's behind tall iron bars after incidents of vandalism demonstrated late night drunks' depraved indifference to the memory Woo Woo.
