In 2012 a near-perfect replica of the World's Tallest Ladderback Chair was dedicated in Bennington, 12 years after the original was torn down. Its cane seat was destroyed by thoughtless jerks in 2021.

[10/22/2000] Complete News StoryAlas...the World's Largest Ladderback Chair is NO more...For some inexplicable reason sometime this year (2000), the chair was removed from the Haynes and Kanes Furniture store lot. Insurance regulations or some such nonsense was the cause....but in any case, the landmark 'big chair' is gone.
It is a sad day. I mean, like, when you give the tourist directions to Bennington College from the McDonalds, you can't tell 'em to "Go straight at the Big Chair" anymore. Now folks'll be gettin' lost more. Progress, hey?
[Jerijan Baldwin, 10/21/2000]The World's Largest Ladderback Chair, which hangs out in front of Haynes & Kane furniture store on Rte 7A in Bennington, appears to be following the lead of the World's Largest Happy Bee. It's canted forward at about an 80 degree angle, and unless it's reinforced, it may soon fall into traffic.
