Vinita, Oklahoma: Bart Simpson Tree (Gone)

Yellow cartoon Bart, fashioned from a dead tree, stands outside the entrance of an out-of-the-way Civil War battlefield.

At the entrance to Cabin Creek Battlefield. I-44 exit 283 (Big Cabin). Drive south on US Hwy 69 for 9.5 miles to Adair. Turn left at the stoplight onto Hwy 28/Main St. Drive a little over eight miles to Pensacola. Turn left (north) onto Rogers St. (white propane tank on opposite corner) which turns into N442 Rd. Drive two miles. Turn right onto E367 Rd/Battle Site Rd. Drive a half-mile. The road bends sharply left to enter the Battlefield; the tree is at that corner.
July 2017: Reported gone.

Bart Simpson Tree

Large tree beside someone's driveway.

[DenverAnn, 09/05/2013]

The tree stands just outside the entrance to the battlefield of the last major Civil War engagement in Indian Territory. It's an out-of-the-way spot, but not too-out-of-the-way for a Simpson's fan.
