Road to Tara Museum

Nice small museum. The museum also does bus tours. Please note that there is an admission charge -- currently $7 (1$ discount for seniors and children).

Gone With the Wind, Road to Tara Museum

The actual corset Scarlett wore the day of the Twelve Oaks picnic (the one Mammy tightened) is on display. Many wonderful items from the movie, as well as the research Margaret Mitchell did here in Jonesboro for her book. The depot where the museum resides, though not one Hollywood used, does give the feeling of being there. Also recommend the bus tours offered at the museum.

Road to Tara Museum

Beautiful tribute to Gone With the Wind. Reproductions of costumes from the movie. Located in the old Jonesboro Train Depot.

[Vicki Stevison, 10/16/2013]

This small museum also features some artifacts and a big mural of scenes from the movie. But the elaborate costumes draw the most attention.
