New Port Richey, Florida: The Gloria Swanson Parking Area
Swanson was the star of "Sunset Boulevard" and many silent films. The parking area's historical marker notes that she was one of the "colorful residents" of town in the 1920s and that "the home she lived in can still be seen on the banks of the Cotee River." All that can be seen from the marker, however, is an unspectacular parking lot.

Her house with her family crest can be viewed from across the Pithlachascotee River. Travel a half a mile north past the parking area sign, on Grand Blvd and park in a bend in the road that the city has provided free parking. Walk down to the river walk and view the Gloria Swanson house on the west bank of the river.
