The former Monroeville Zombies Museum in the Monroeville "Dawn of the Dead" Mall has reopened in its own space in downtown Evans City, which was where most of "Night of the Living Dead" (the original 1968 movie) was filmed. The museum is larger than before and, despite its name change, still focuses on zombies throughout cinema and pop culture in all the years since. Some interactive experiences have been added as well as a screening room and a zombie "Maul of Fame!" The gift shop and static displays remain as well.
This place is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and whenever downtown Pittsburgh has its one-day Zombie Fest each October, because they don't want to miss it.
