Providence, Rhode Island: Big Kodiak Bear
Officially named "Indomitable," it's an 11-foot-tall, very bulky, bronze Kodiak bear, standing upright on a four-foot-high base. Sculpted in England by Nick Bibby, it weighs over three tons.

- On the campus of Brown University. From US Hwy 44 downtown, turn east onto Washington/Waterman St. Drive a half-mile. Turn left at the stoplight onto Hope St. Drive three blocks. You'll see the bear on the right, next to the Nelson Fitness Center.

The sculpted life-size bronze kodiak bear was unveiled in 2013, on the campus of Brown University -- the kodiak bear is its mascot. An actual dead kodiak bear was mounted, preserved and donated by alumni in 1948 and is still displayed behind glass in the Meehan Auditorium lobby.
