Mr. Top Hat

Mr Top Hat was severely vandalized, and was finally removed six to eight months ago. This was verified by the owner of the house where he used to stand.

Mr. Top Hat

Mr. Top Hat borders on sitting in someone's yard and a gravel turnaround driveway. When we were taking pictures with him, a lady came out of the business next door and offered to take a picture with both of us with it. After taking the picture, she sees our dog peeking out the window and informed us that a dog just recently bit her in the face. How do you respond to that? Maybe we could have offered to take a picture of her with the dog.

Honestly, the best part of the RA road trips are the people you meet at the attractions.

Mr. Top Hat

This concrete statue stood outside of the Top Hat bar on Triplett St. until it went out of business, years ago. He's moved around a few times, but has landed in an unusual spot that is basically in someone's driveway. He's got a fairly fresh coat of paint over his concrete mesh structure. Much like Gabe, he's a leftover testament to Owensboro's "glory days." The words "Top Hat" are carved into the base on both sides. Not sure who owns him. Be respectful of people in house next to him.
