Al Capp (1909-1979) lived and drew in Amesbury for over 40 years. The mural was dedicated in 2010 and created by artist Jon Mooers, who also painted the "Carriagetown" mural and the town's other-famous-guy mural (poet John Greenleaf Whittier).
