Newberry Springs, California: Bagdad Cafe: Route 66 Icon
A must-stop for tourists from Europe, especially France, where the 1987 German film "Bagdad Cafe" is a cult classic. The Cafe itself is not a vintage Route 66 attraction, but you'd never know it from the thousands of we-love-you letters and post cards covering its walls.

Was there earlier in 7/2020 and it is all boarded up. The Bagdad Cafe sign is still there, but definitely no life.

The sunset over Bagdad Cafe blew my mind! The super cute restaurant is open from 7am to 7pm and offers Route 66 souvenirs. I am a big fan of any film that features an actor who can do one-handed push ups well into his 80's!
