The 25th anniversary of TrekFest will be celebrated June 26-27, 2009 in the Future Birthplace of James T. Kirk. The townspeople have secured three well-known Star Trek stars to appear. Uhura (Nichelle Nichols); Sulu (George Takai); and Chekov (Walter Koenig) will participate in the huge parade on Saturday morning, they will judge a costume contest, and appear for a Q&A session and photo session at the convention center.
Festival is June 26 - Fri 5-0 pm, June 27 - Sa 10 am - 10 pm. For more information about this all-ages, family event, please visit www.trekfest.com for a schedule of events and more information.

Small town museum with a futuristic flair, on the curve of 22 in the old Kwik N EZ building. Outside in the parking lot is the USS Riverside starship; inside are Star Trek (Riverside is the future birthplace of Star Trek's Captain James T. Kirk) exhibits. It also contains an Invasion Iowa Exhibit and exhibits on the History of Riverside. The Time capsule is located in this building.
The staff will be happy to give you directions to other local attractions.

Riverside continues to claim it is the future birthplace of Captain James Tiberius Kirk, from the Star Trek TV series and franchise. The actual landmark says he is to be born on March 22nd in the year 2228.
