Cincinnati, Ohio: SpongeBob SquarePants Tombstones
Spring Grove Cemetery is the graveyard for the elite of Cincinnati. In 2013, the family of Kimberly Walker erected two big SpongeBob SquarePants tombstones on her grave; she had been a huge SpongeBob fan. The next day they vanished. The cemetery said they "did not fit" in a "historic cemetery." But on Valentine's Day 2014 -- the one year anniversary of Walker's murder -- the SpongeBobs were back up, apparently for good. The cemetery apologized, although the SpongeBobs now no longer face the road.

This lady had some great wisdom for her short 29 years of life. Make sure you read what she had to say on her tombstones. She obviously also loved SpongeBob!

Directions are perfect and we found easily. The memorial is majestic...as you approach the two huge marble markers you can see Spongebob's silhouette peeking out! Walk around and behold two Spongebob figures in black and grey marble, one a soldier, one a sailor. I'm interested to learn more about the young woman who rests here.

Sgt. Kimberly Walker (1984-2013) served in the US army in Iraq, and was murdered on Valentine's Day in 2013. She loved the absorbent kids cartoon character. The cemetery association didn't -- at least not for its gravestones, but after some adjustments they are now permanent.
