International Water Tasting Competition

Nestled in the spa and art town of Berkeley Springs, WV (also known as the Historic Town of Bath...for obvious reasons) is the International Water Tasting Competition. Going strong for almost 25 years, this is the longest running event of its kind. This competition is practically the Olympics of water! Waters from around the round vie for the distinction of being an award-winning thirst quencher. While there are official judges tasting the entered waters, the public is invited to join in the fun and taste the municipal, sparkling, and still water hopefuls.

There is also a "People's choice award" for best bottle design. But the real fun is at the end of the ceremony for the thrilling "water rush" where folks truly dive in to grab as many of the display bottles as they can carry. All in all, the International Water Tasting Competition is unique good, clean American fun.

Nearby, on the grounds of Berkeley Springs State Park, you'll find the still active bath tub of George Washington. As a young surveyor, the future-president would take to the baths of Berkeley Springs. February 2015 will mark the 25th Anniversary of the Competition--which is sure to make an even bigger splash!
