Pacem In Terris

Sculpture garden around rebuilt old windmill along a river. Open part of the year. Covered bridge road off of route 94 near where it intersects with Warwick Turnpike.

[Patricia, 03/17/2014]

This six acre sculpture garden and "trans-religious sanctuary" was created by the late Frederick Franck, an artist and author on zen and spirituality. Open since 1966, about 70 large sculptures are spread along paths in the woods around an old grist mill. A few of the sculptures, such as "Angel of Destruction" and "Nail Tree," are not so mildly contemplative.
