There is a nice paved walking/biking trail around that end of the lake. I parked on a nearby residential street (east of the dragon), walked to the trail, then followed the trail to the dragon.

There is a sea serpent inhabiting Lake Woodlands off the shore from South Shore Park. The official name of the artwork is "Rise of the Midgard Serpent" and it was constructed by artist Marc Rosenthal.
It is clearly visible from the road, but unfortunately there is no official parking place for this park. You just have to pull off on the shoulder of the road and park in the grass. The land just north of the creature is private property, so the only way to get up close to it is by using a boat. Still, it is fun to see.
