Now open on Mondays too! We had the National Ranching Heritage Center as an unplanned stop, and spent about an hour and a half checking it out. Very well done. A great way to learn about ranching history. People were a lot tougher back then!

Free admittance to a unique museum made of a collection of antique ranch homes, log houses, and a huge barn. Walk along winding paths from one to another while carefully sculpted hills isolate them from each other, giving you that "back in time" feeling. These homes are from various parts of the state. Inside the museum is the furniture, and glass doors to a wealthy ranch owner's parlor from those days. It was a great sign of wealth in those days and still is!
Great place to see native jackrabbits, too! Located beside and maintained by Texas Tech University.
