The hard science of meat grilling is finally getting the respect it deserves. Some companies have hired physicists to consult on the proper temperature-to-flip ratio that excites the molecules just so. But in the dark ages before barbecue was funding university labs, innovators like George A. Stephen dreamed of better, more portable grilling equipment. He invented the Weber kettle grill, and started to sell it in 1952.
At the Weber Grill Restaurant, diners can admire a life-size bronze statue of Stephen taking on three prime beef cuts on a bronze Weber grill.
