White Cloud, Kansas: See Four States - Unbelievable View

We admire the self-confidence of this attraction. You could probably see three states from the ground, but an observation platform enables you to see clear to Iowa. Or so you're told.

Awful! Don't go. The town is a dump and mostly closed down. The viewing platform itself is literally some wood cobbled together with no signage or information at all as to what to see. As there's nothing else nearby to see, there's not really any point in going.

See Four States - Unbelievable View

In the town of White Cloud, in northeastern Kansas, there is a vista from which one can supposedly see four states. The states being Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. Well, since the states do not exactly meet at four corners, such as Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico do, I was skeptical.

Surely Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri can be seen from this site, but Iowa is a ways north, and I thought it was too far away to see, even from a high point such as the one in White Cloud. Nevertheless, this view is free, and still billed itself as "See Four States" when I was last there. The friend I was with said he'd been there many times, and that Iowa is definitely one of the states you see from there.
