Freedomland was supposed to be the East Coast's answer to Disneyland, with stagecoaches, teepees, two Mississippi riverboats (it had eight miles of navigable waterways), and the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, which was reenacted every half hour. All 200+ acres were bulldozed in 1965. A few pieces from one of the riverboats were placed next to the rock in July 2019.
