Fresno, California: Renoir Washer Woman Sculpture (In Transition)
Pierre Auguste Renoir sculpted "La Grand Laveuse," a woman hand-washing laundry, in 1917. There are six original bronze castings in the world, but this one is uniquely people-friendly, as its shiny hand-rubbed parts attest.

Fulton Mall is soon to be Fulton street, as they are taking out the existing outdoor mall. The bronze statue, owned by City of Fresno, is moving but I don't know to where.

In the pedestrian-friendly Fulton Mall, near the Payless shoe store is Renoir's La Grand Laveuse (Washer Woman). It's one of only six castings, and it's the only one that can be touched.
