The Naranjo Museum of Natural History is just south of Lufkin and has large dioramas of the prehistoric periods, many fully-excavated dinosaurs, and tons of smaller fossils everywhere. It also houses rare uncut/cut gems, collections on ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, Vikings, the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. And it has replicas of the Mars Rover and Space Shuttle. A surprisingly good museum for its location.

I was actually very impressed with this museum! Was not expecting much except for a moon rock, then was pleasantly surprised by a few very interesting dinosaur exhibits.
