Block Island, Rhode Island: Perpetually Painted Rock
It's not a very big rock, but it is slowly growing larger with every layer of paint sprayed and slathered onto it by passers-by. A high-stakes exercise in officially tolerated all-are-welcome vandalism.

- From the ferry dock turn left onto Water St., then left again onto Spring St. Follow Spring St. clockwise around the island for about three miles (it turns into Mohegan Trail). When the road bends sharply right, you'll see the rock on the left, at the intersection of Snake Hole Rd.
