A 22-foot-tall concrete statue of Mary, known as Our Lady of the Hills, stands in a small roadside park out in the middle of nowhere. A plaque explains that this shrine of the Virgin Mother was erected in 1993 by local residents in response to answered prayers. She stands alongside a dirt road out in the country. If you attempt to visit in winter (like me), you may want to travel with 4-wheel drive. The dirt road is very hilly, curvy, and narrow.
