I grew up in Peoria where the Plaza Tire (formerly Uniroyal) tie statue is. I've always heard the rumor that this is the 'statue wearin' high heels' that Creedence Clearwater Revival refers to in the song "Lookin' Out My Backdoor." Can anyone confirm or deny this interesting rumor?
[chris richerson, 09/20/2005]Peoria, Illinois residents were horrified on Friday afternoon, July 29, when a car driven by an 89-year old woman who disobeyed a "traffic control device" was struck by another car and careened into the legs of the bikini-clad Uniroyal Gal on Washington Ave. The statue was clipped at the ankles, breaking off one set of toes and damaging her bright red high-heeled shoes....
[07/31/2005] Complete News StoryThe Uniroyal gal in Peoria, IL, is nowhere near a stock car racing track; otherwise the street names are correct. I lived there all my young life and my stepfather (a hellraiser of some renown) was once blamed when a triangular patch of black carpeting was found one morning pasted over the gal's pubes. He insists he's innocent.

Bikini-clad Miss Uniroyal for the Giant Women collection -- located just south of downtown Peoria, Illinois.
[Martin Ince, 04/04/1998]On Illinois Route 116/Farmington Road just west of Peoria can be found an elusive Uniroyal gal. The tire she held proudly is long gone, but her attire has long been a subject of debate. For many years, we stood in awe of the startling two-piece red swimsuit, only to see it replaced by the PC police with a less enticing (read, boring) knee length dress. Rumors circulate that the bikini returned, but I have not seen her since 1992. Bonus: The auto repair shop is near a filthy, dirt-bowl stock car speedway and the Caddyshack putt-putt/driving range complex.

Hadn't heard that, but this line provides geolocation: "Just got home from illinois, lock the front door, oh boy!" And this is the line that might refer to the Uniroyal gal: "...a giant doing cartwheels, a statue wearin' high heels." But we have no report of a cartwheeling giant or the other hallucinations in the song.
