Otis Redding is best known for "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay" and for the fact that he died only days after recording it. He grew up in Macon. This 2002 statue shows him sittin' on a dock with his guitar, composing his famous song.

My advice is to pay close attention to your surroundings. This attraction is not the safest area.
