On the campus of the University of Illinois, in Lincoln Hall, there is a bust of Abe. His head sits in a staircase. As students head up the stairs, to their class, it is a tradition to rub Abe's nose for luck. A lot of luck must be needed, as Abe's nose is very shiny.

The luck specifically targets academic test results. Next to the building is The Eternal Flame (Class of 1912 Memorial), where a romantic kiss is supposed to forever bind couples.
