On the campus of the University of Illinois, in Lincoln Hall, there is a bust of Abe. His head sits in a staircase. As students head up the stairs, to their class, it is a tradition to rub Abe's nose for luck. A lot of luck must be needed, as Abe's nose is very shiny.
[Doug Dirr, 07/15/2014]The luck specifically targets academic test results. Next to the building is The Eternal Flame (Class of 1912 Memorial), where a romantic kiss is supposed to forever bind couples.
