Big Rocket Engine

A giant rocket engine stands outside the Rocketdyne Santa Susanna field factory. A friend of mine said they used to test these up on some hill when he lived in San Dimas, and he could hear them at night. This engine, according to its plaque, is 19 feet tall, 12 feet wide, and produced 1,522,000 pounds of thrust. Five of them lifted the rocket carrying the Apollo spacecraft to the moon.
