Auburn, Indiana: Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum
The Ford Flathead V-8 Engine was praised by celebrities from John Dillinger to Chuck Berry. The museum displays vintage cars and trucks (1932-1953) powered by this legendary hunk of Detroit iron. Also here, a replica of the Ford Rotunda pavilion, which burned down in 1962.

- I-69 exit 326. Drive west on County Road 11-A. Make the second right onto General Doolittle Drive and drive all the way to the end, past some very large buildings. You'll see the museum straight ahead (Look for the Ford Rotunda billboard sign).

The authentic 1930s Ford Dealership is amazing. The stainless steel 1936 Ford sedan is worth stopping for. Hard to imagine why Ford would agree to produce a car from stainless steel. A new building has been added, with a restoration shop, classroom and event space. The hours are 9 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week.

"Preserving 1932-1953 Early Ford V-8 History." The Early Ford V-8 Foundation Museum tells the entire history of the Flathead V-8 Engine. The original sign from Dearborn's Ford Rotunda stands in front of the museum. A 1936 Stainless Steel Ford is on display through Labor Day 2014.
