Be prepared to laugh. Wear short pants, good sandals that you don't mind getting soaked. Ladies, don't bother fixing your hair for the day. Throw it up in a pony or bun and just enjoy the view. There are a lot of stairs and it's a bit slippery if you're not paying attention. This may not be fun for your little ones. But you know your child best, so have fun! We did a local tour group for the entire area and main attractions (Well worth the money spent. And for Pete's sake, plan to tip your guide if on a tour. They deserve it!).

You get to go down an elevator to the base of Niagara Falls and walk next to the falls. You can experience hurricane force winds.
