Grave of Eliot Ness

The site is on Lake Road in the cemetery in section 7, but nestled between the small lake across Lake Road from Wade Chapel and Lake Road itself.

Grave of Eliot Ness

The marker is technically a cenotaph rather than an actual grave. Though he died in 1957, Ness' ashes remained with his family for four decades. In 1997, the ashes were ceremoniously scattered over a pond at Lake View Cemetery, and the cenotaph stands nearby.

Grave of Eliot Ness

I love this time period in history, so it was neat to see the grave site of Eliot Ness, who was famous as the lawman leader of the Prohibition-era Untouchables. There are quite a few other notable/famous people, along with a former President, buried in this beautiful cemetery.
