The site is on Lake Road in the cemetery in section 7, but nestled between the small lake across Lake Road from Wade Chapel and Lake Road itself.
[Micah Minium, 07/16/2019]The marker is technically a cenotaph rather than an actual grave. Though he died in 1957, Ness' ashes remained with his family for four decades. In 1997, the ashes were ceremoniously scattered over a pond at Lake View Cemetery, and the cenotaph stands nearby.

I love this time period in history, so it was neat to see the grave site of Eliot Ness, who was famous as the lawman leader of the Prohibition-era Untouchables. There are quite a few other notable/famous people, along with a former President, buried in this beautiful cemetery.
