In the days when Portlanders got around town on horseback, iron rings were attached to the curbs for tying-up convenience. Many of those rings remain, at random locations all over the city. The Horse Project oversees the attachment of small toy horses to the rings. Having heard about this project from the locals, we were eager for a tiny horse sighting of our own as we traveled around the city to other Roadside sights such as VooDoo Donuts and Mike's Museum of Motion Picture History.
Keep an eye out for tiny horses tethered curbside. Our recent sighting was on SE Taylor St. near the entrance to Mt Tabor Park.
