Still blocked off but you can get a good picture. It's adorable. We were sad to not be able to get closer. It is right beside the parking lot of the Shell Station, right off the exit.

The Traveler's Chapel

You can no longer walk up to the chapel. The end of the boardwalk is blocked off so you now have to view this cute little chapel from afar.

We'll have to monitor the situation. Tiny chapels which don't welcome visitors are violating some kind of timeless law of the highway.

Tiny Church - The Traveler's Chapel

The tiny Traveler's Chapel is located just South of I-64 on highway 127 near the town of Nashville, IL. The church stands next to the parking lot of a convenience store -- luckily the one I stopped at to fill up the car. The interior of the chapel is a tad on the rustic side (i.e. no sheetrock, etc). The walls are covered here and there with plywood on which various new and old testament scriptures are written. There are no pews or chairs, just an altar with a small padded piece of wood for kneeling and a large floor-to-ceiling cross.
